A Recreation Therapist with a Personal Support Worker background, I started Full Circle Therapeutic Recreation with a passion for recreation and leisure and a passion of caring for others. Over the years, I have worked in a hospital setting, retirement home, homecare, and long-term care facilities. I have received my Recreation Therapy diploma from Canadore College, am an active member of Therapeutic Recreation of Ontario, and have also received certificates in Gentle Persuasive Approach and Tiered Exercise Programming. This allows me to apply the skills I've learned in my programming to better assist my clients.
I focus on making sure recreation and leisure are an important aspect of my clients lives, as they help shape us and give us purpose and an identity. Recreation and leisure are described as "activities done in free time for enjoyment" and "free time to do what you wish". I truly enjoy providing a respite care service for my clients that helps fill that free time with positive programs, benefitting their overall well-being!
I have always maintained hobbies for pure enjoyment over the years and believe that it nourishes one's soul. Creating cognitive stimulation and exercise programs that are similar to the client’s leisure interests is how I tailor the perfect program for them!
Some of my own personal favourite hobbies include baking, jigsaw puzzles, exercise, video games, reading a good book, and camping!
